Privacy Policy

1. What this covers

This policy explains what information Dukaan Register (operated by Codenz Technologies) collects when you and your team use the Service, and how we use, store, and protect it.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email, and shop name when you sign up, and the same for any staff you invite.
• Business data you enter — sales, products and IMEI/serial records, repair tickets, wallet reconciliation entries, and customer credit (khata) records. This data belongs to your shop.
• Billing information — for paid plans, our payment processor Paddle handles your card details directly; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Usage data — basic technical logs (sign-in times, error reports) used to keep the Service reliable and secure.

3. How we use it

• To operate the Service — running your dashboard, sales, inventory, repairs, and reports.
• To send account-related email — password resets, staff invitations, and billing receipts.
• To maintain security — detecting abuse, enforcing access controls between shops.
• To improve the product based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.

We do not sell your data or your customers' data to third parties.

4. Where your data lives

Your shop's data is stored in an isolated, access-controlled Postgres database (hosted on Neon) and is encrypted in transit. Every request is scoped to your shop — staff and other shops can't see data that isn't theirs.

5. Third parties we rely on

• Paddle — payment processing and billing for paid plans.
• Resend — delivering transactional email (password resets, invitations, receipts).
• Vercel — application hosting.

Each only receives the information it needs to perform its function for us.

6. Data retention

We keep your shop's data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your data within a reasonable period afterward, except where we're required to retain billing records for legal or tax purposes.

7. Your rights

You can access, export, or correct your shop's data at any time from within the app, or by contacting us. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
